THE PROBLEM

A 25-year milestone that needed more than an email

Cornerstone OnDemand built a 25th anniversary celebration that didn't look like anything they'd done before. The activation for their swag redemption was a metaverse experience with interactive tasks: employees moving through a custom virtual space rather than reading about the milestone in a company-wide email. The reward at the end of it needed to match that energy. A standard "click here to claim your gift" email landing in an inbox the next morning would break the experience.

The constraint was finding a swag partner flexible enough to deliver swag outside the typical email trigger. Most platforms assume an email is the front door: the employee gets a message, clicks through, and redeems. Cornerstone needed the front door to be the metaverse itself.


THE SOLUTION

Swag links embedded directly into the metaverse

PerkUp's swag store and swag links feature became the bridge between Cornerstone OnDemand's metaverse and its swag. Instead of generating a reward email for each employee, the Cornerstone team used PerkUp to generate swag links that were embedded inside the metaverse environment. Employees completed their anniversary tasks, clicked the link in the virtual space, landed on the PerkUp redemption page, and chose their custom anniversary apparel.

PerkUp's design agency built the custom 25th anniversary apparel collection that lived inside the redemption page, then ran a hybrid fulfillment model to make it work globally. On Demand production handled most of the world, producing each piece as it was ordered. India ran on bulk fulfillment instead, sidestepping the customs and shipping friction that typically comes with shipping one-off custom apparel into the region.

A 25-year celebration that kept employees inside the experience

Cornerstone OnDemand ran a 25th anniversary activation that kept employees inside the experience from the first task to the redeemed apparel. The hybrid fulfillment model meant employees in India received the same anniversary apparel as every other region, without the international shipping headaches that usually come with custom apparel into India.
